Terri Is Dead…..Sorry
A couple of points to the “concerned” individuals that are trying to save the “life” of Terri Schiavo.
1. Terri Schiavo is on life support. Many people dispute this. Without her consent, Mrs. Schiavo is being injected with a fluid that is manufactured by pharmaceutical
companies. It provides nutrients that keep her alive. This is the “food” that she is not receiving now. She is not being deprived an Easter meal with ham, biscuits and
mashed potatoes. She is not thinking to herself, “Geez, I am really hungry.” She hasn’t eaten in 15 years! Her stomach wouldn’t be able to digest a peanut at this
point. Children and handicapped people are acting as politician’s pawns and are bringing glasses of water. It’s a good photo opportunity for the press, but I am
missing the symbolism. Her feeding tubes are life support. They are no different from a breathing tube or any other device that unnaturally prolongs life.
2. If it was left up to god, Terri Schiavo would be dead. The religious right is crying, “What would god do? Leave it up to god.” They are actually ignorant enough to say
this and I couldn’t agree with them more. Take her off of all the man made pumps and other devices and let’s see what god does. Having her plugged into these
machines is keeping her as far from god as she could possibly be. God did not build these machines or tell Moses to make one when he was finished with the ark.
One of the leading manufacturers of feeding pumps is Kendall Healthcare, which is owned by Tyco International, Ltd. Tyco is the company whose top executives are
charged with fraud and have stolen millions from employees and investors. If god was working through humans, I surely doubt that he would be involved with these
dudes.
3. A question. Why is the only video that we see of Mrs. Schiavo several years old? This is the one we see her flopping around in….the one where she is “living”. I
imagine that the propaganda of a recent video might be even less effective for the religious right.
4. Everyone on the right is saying that Michael Schiavo doesn’t care about his wife. I don’t know if this is a good guy or not, but I guess all the Christians that are
calling him a murderer do (Let he who is without sin cast the first stone). All I know about him is that he does care. If he didn’t, then WHY DOES HE CARE? I know
that sounds a bit redundant, but I am sure that he could transfer the legal rights to his wife and move on if he didn’t care.
5. It is likely that the same people that are trying to keep Terri on the machines are also supporting the war in Iraq. Over 1,500 U.S. soldiers have been killed there
along with thousands of Iraqis. Many of the soldiers that are lucky enough to get home find themselves dealing with difficult emotional issues, including coming to
grips with this nation’s fixation on this woman’s “life” that should have expired years ago.
I am sure that both sides of this issue will pump out grocery store books and spin it a million different ways in upcoming elections. Let it and her go.

Letter to the National Football League - Response to Misdirected Drug Awareness Ads
by: bloodface the desTROYer (2004)
The National Football League has campaigned for several years against drug abuse. In recent commercials, such as one with Tiki Barber of the New York Giants,
the NFL warns of the dangers of drugs “including weed”. Drug awareness is crucial in the education of children, but it struck me that an educational campaign on
alcohol awareness or gambling would affect more lives. Problem is…..the NFL could not survive without the gamblers or the revenue that is generated from alcohol
advertisements, so no visible campaign has ever been endorsed regarding these addictions. I am sure that the chance of a heroin addict tuning into Sunday’s game
is considerably less than some guy killing off a twelve pack and having $200 bucks on the Steelers.

Letter to Relevant Radio (Catholic Broadcasting) - Response Devilish Marketing
by: bloodface the desTROYer (2004)
I started listening to your station recently and have enjoyed the discussions and appreciate your point of view even though I am not a religious person.
One thing has struck me as being odd though…..I am a fan of all kinds of music and I recognized two of the songs in your intros and outros. I am not trying to say that
you should limit the scope of your music, but I don’t think you know what is being played to market the teaching of Jesus Christ at your corporation.
The first song I heard was “Soul to Squeeze” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers (good song). This group has a video where the lead singer (male) passionately tongue
kisses the guitarist (also male)…..the video is for “Warped” if you would like to investigate. That guitarist (Dave Navarro) is married to Carmen Electra (Playboy model).
Dave is no longer in the band because one of their old guitarists returned to the fold after kicking a nasty heroin addiction. Hilel Slovak (Jewish), the original guitarist, left
the band when he overdosed on heroin and died. The group’s bass player Flea was in the homosexually charged film “My Own Private Idaho” with River Phoenix (dead
of a drug overdose). At one point Flea was locked in a nasty legal battle that accused him and the drummer of sexually assaulting a female fan (at least it wasn’t a guy….
right!?!). Another career highlight includes an early song with a chorus that went something like…“I wanna party on your p*ssy baby”. Relevant Radio?
The second song I heard was “Just Like Heaven” from the Cure….yeah seems fitting, but let’s take a look. This band was initially called the Cult Heroes and its most
acclaimed album is called “Pornography”. The lead singer (Robert Smith) pioneered the goth culture that is decorated with black clothes and mad amounts of eyeliner. I
am not really into the Cure, but I know that Marilyn Manson and Relevant Radio are big fans.
Are these the type of messengers that should market the teachings of Jesus? If they are let me know and I might get back on board. If you were a major network, a
religious group might complain about using these pop indulgences as a way of marketing to the weak minded. Your station talks about how the Devil is working in
many ways to tempt people. Could the Devil be working though your station’s programmers?
Intros and outros are used on the radio to excite the listener and invite them to hear more…to stay tuned. Selling God and Jesus with the Cure and Red Hot Chili
Peppers seems very inappropriate…..even for somebody like me that was left behind.
